Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the Moonchild Holistic Sleep FAQ page. Here you'll find answers to the most common questions about my infant sleep support. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact me – I’m always happy to help.

What is Moonchild Holistic Sleep?

Moonchild Holistic Sleep is an infant sleep consultancy that specialises in supporting premature babies, toddlers and children. I offer a gentle alternative to traditional sleep training, focusing on natural, developmentally respectful solutions to support restful sleep for the whole family.

What does “holistic sleep support” mean?

Holistic sleep support means we look at the whole child: body, mind and environment. This includes developmental needs (especially for premature babies), sensory sensitivities, underlying health conditions and family dynamics. Unlike standard sleep training methods, my approach honours your child’s unique sleep biology and emotional needs.

Do you work with premature babies?

Yes, absolutely. Supporting sleep in premature babies requires a nuanced, developmentally sensitive approach. The methods I use are gentle and holistic – an ideal alternative to rigid sleep training techniques – and always take your baby’s adjusted age and medical background into account.

What ages do you support?

I support families with children in the following age groups:

  • Premature infants (from adjusted newborn age)

  • Toddlers (1–3 years)

  • Children (up to around age 5)

I guide families through common challenges like frequent night waking, short naps, bedtime battles and transitions – without sleep training.

What makes your approach different from traditional sleep training?

Traditional sleep training often uses “cry-it-out” methods or strict routines that don’t work for every child – or every parent. At Moonchild, I offer a gentle, responsive alternative to sleep training that prioritises connection, regulation and long-term emotional wellbeing. I help you set boundaries in a loving, supportive way that fosters trust and restfulness.

How does the process work?

  1. An initial 60-minute video consultation – We begin with a thorough intake to understand your child’s sleep, health and history.

  2. A personalised sleep plan – You’ll receive a custom plan that fits your family’s goals and values – there’s no “one-size-fits-all” sleep training here.

  3. A 30-minute follow-up video call – I’ll catch up with you after a week to see how you’re getting on and we can tweak the plan as necessary.

  4. Ongoing support via text and email – I offer compassionate follow-up and troubleshooting so you feel supported every step of the way.

What support options do you offer?

I offer virtual consultations and coaching packages to guide you through sleep challenges with premature babies, toddlers and children. Whether you’re curious about gentle sleep shaping or looking for an alternative to conventional sleep training, I’m here to help. See my 1:1 sleep packages page for details.

How long does it take to see improvements?

Every child is unique. Some families see changes within a few days, while others experience gradual shifts over a few weeks. Unlike fast-track sleep training methods, my approach focuses on sustainable, respectful progress.

Do you work with families internationally?

Yes! All services are provided online (unless local to Dorking, Surrey – in which case, I can meet you face-to-face), making it easy to work with families around the world. I tailor every sleep plan to your family’s time zone, culture and needs.

Can I book a free discovery call?
